MIKE LEWIS

GOALKEEPER

Formerly of Swansea City, Carmarthen Town and Aberystwyth Town, Mike Lewis is an experienced, quality goalkeeper with over 200 JD Welsh Premier League appearances to his name.


Last season's Supporters' Player of the Year, Barry's influential #1 was instrumental in the club's recent promotion season, keeping 21 clean sheets along the way to cap a successful first campaign.


With clean sheets against the likes of Bangor City, Newtown, Llandudno and The New Saints this season, Mike has also been part of a Welsh Cup final and Europa League qualifying tie.

PAUL MORGAN

DEFENDER

Long-serving defender and Barry boy Paul Morgan is a popular and enthusiastic player, with an infectious approach to life.


Signed in 2013 from Newport County, Paul has developed into an experienced hand and has amassed over 150 appearances.


Paul has won all three divisions of the Welsh League during his time with Barry and is a fully-qualified mechanic, as well as a former Young Player and Players' Player of the Season.

CHRIS HUGH

DEFENDER

Joining the club in the summer of 2016 from traditional rivals Merthyr, Chris Hugh is a forward-minded player and a class act on the field, offering much to the team in defence and attack.


With his skill, endeavour and style of play, he has quickly become an important part of the Barry team, scoring against Llandundo and Cefn Druids in the JD Welsh Premier League


Highly-regarded by the Town supporters, Chris is a full Welsh international at futsal, as well as a fully-qualified dentist by trade.

LUKE COOPER

DEFENDER

Another favourite of the fans, Luke Cooper signed for Barry in July 2016 after a few seasons at Caerau Ely, where he won the Welsh League Division One Championship.


A highly-committed player, Luke was an ever-present in our own Division One championship-winning season of 2017-18.


A former Masters student at the University of South Wales and a Welsh Universities international, Luke scored his first JD Welsh Premier League goal on Boxing Day 2017 against Cardiff Met.

CURTIS WATKINS

DEFENDER

One of a number of local lads in the Barry Town squad, Curtis Watkins is a Wales U19 international and a former Cardiff City professional, who joined the Town in November 2016.


Since then, the former Bluebirds' DVP captain has adapted to life at Jenner Park well, becoming a regular starter for Barry.


A talented and adaptable footballer, who is comfortable in a variety of playing positions, Curtis has served primarily as a defender in the JD Welsh Premier League campaign to date.

KAYNE MCLAGGON

STRIKER

Prolific marksman Kayne McLaggon returned home this summer, after being the top goalscorer for Merthyr Town last season.


Having progressed through the youth ranks to play as a full professional at Southampton, Kayne's career has taken him to Eastbourne, Salisbury City, Bristol Rovers and elsewhere.


Capped for Wales to U19 level, Kayne is a dynamic striker who has settled well, quickly staking his claim to JD Welsh Premier League's Golden Boot after a flurry of goals before Christmas.

TROY GREENING

MIDFIELDER

A former Young Player of the Season at Barry and Wales schoolboy international, Troy Greening is a technically-gifted midfield player who fits the manager’s style of play to a tee.


Having previously played for both Merthyr Town and Newport County, Troy was a key member of the Barry squad that won all three divisions of the Welsh League, culminating in 2016-17.


With over 100 appearances for the club to date, Troy has proven himself to be a big asset this JD Welsh Premier League season.

JORDAN COTTERILL

STRIKER

Back from injury, Jordan Cotterill is an extremely gifted and creative player, with his free-kicks, vision and forward play winning many admirers since arriving at the club in 2012-13.


Playing over 100 times for the Town and scoring around 60 goals in the process, Jordan opened his JD Welsh Premier League account for Barry against Prestatyn Town in December 2017.

Often spectacular, Jordan's goals have been an important factor in helping the club claim more than one Welsh League honour.

DREW FAHIYA

WINGER

Another local lad, speedy forward player Drew Fahiya signed for his hometown club in July 2015 and has not looked back since.


Drew's previous clubs include Dinas Powys, Bridgend Town and Port Talbot Town, for whom he played in the JD Welsh Premier League, as well as the 2010 Welsh Cup final, which he scored in.


A pacy, forward-orientated player who brings much to the team, both on and off the field of play, Drew finished as equal top goalscorer for Barry in the 2016-17 Welsh League title campaign.

JOE MASSARO

GOALKEEPER

Having spent last season on loan at Ton Pentre, where he featured in a televised Welsh Cup tie with Bangor City on S4C, goalkeeper Joe Massaro returned to the Barry Town first team squad for the start of our JD Welsh Premier League challenge.


Having spent over a decade learning his craft at Cardiff City Football Club, Joe excels in distribution to his teammates.


Gaining additional experience in his loan spell, Joe has become a more complete goalkeeper and adds strength and depth to our squad; featuring in the Nathaniel MG Cup and making JD Welsh Premier League starts against Bangor City and others.

LOUIS GERRARD

STRIKER

The 'Magician of Jenner Park', Louis Gerrard arrived from Caerau Ely in March 2016 and proved an instant hit with the club's supporters, due to his honest and hard-working style.


Louis is a strong-running and aggressive midfield player, who can provide an added goal threat for Gavin Chesterfield's side.


Opening his account for 2017-18 with a brace at Jenner Park gainst Afan Lido, Louis is a current University of South Wales student and a Welsh Universities international to boot.

JAMES DIXON

STRIKER

Another product of the local footballing hotbed, James Dixon returned to his hometown club in January 2014 for a third spell.


An all-action centre forward who adds pace, strength and combativeness to the Town side, striker James has made over 150 appearances for the club, scoring 77 goals along the way.

​

Among his leading achievements at the club, James scored five times in two successive Welsh Cup ties in the 2015-16 season.

MACAULEY SOUTHAM-HALES

MIDFIELDER

Cardiff-born Macauley Southam-Hales is a versatile midfield player and a product of the Cardiff City Football Club academy, which he progressed through to sign professional terms in 2014.

​

Born in 1996, Southam-Hales is a former captain of the Bluebirds’ U18s, where he played alongside current Barry teammates, Curtis Watkins and goalkeeper Joe Massaro.

​

No stranger to Jenner Park, Macca featured for the Bluebirds in three friendly victories at Barry Town and opened his JD Welsh Premier League goal account against Carmarthen in December.

LEWIS COSSLETT

DEFENDER

Lewis Cosslett is the longest-serving player at Barry Town United, having originally represented his hometown club as a junior.


Progressing through the ranks to the first team, Lewis has grown in stature across his years at Jenner Park, winning Welsh League Division One, Two and Three medals along the way.


The son of former Barry defender, current team coach and Hall of Famer, Mike Cosslett, Lewis made his JD Welsh Premier League debut against Connah's Quay Nomads in January.

GAVIN CHESTERFIELD

MANAGER

Manager Gavin Chesterfield was appointed to the role of first team manager in 2007 and has gained huge respect at the club over the decade or so that has followed.


A former player with Exeter, Merthyr, Rhayader, Llanelli and Port Talbot. Gavin is a UEFA ‘A’ licenced coach, FAW Trust coach educator, Wales under 16 coach and a senior lecturer at the University of South Wales.

MIKE COSSLETT

ASSISTANT MANAGER

Mike Cosslett is a UEFA A Licence coach with a 40+ year association with our club. Signing as an 18-year old, Mike went on to make over 180 appearances in Barry Town colours.


A distinguished defender who also played for Newport County, Aberystwyth Town, Merthyr Town and Weymouth, Mike brings much knowledge and experience to the role. Loved by all, Mike is Mr. Barry.

DAMON SEARLE

COACH

A veteran defender and former Wales U21 international, Damon Searle made 466 Football League appearances for Cardiff City, Stockport, Carlisle, Rochdale, Southend and Chesterfield and brings this knowledge to his role.


Joining the club in 2009, Damon is passionate person who wears his heart on his sleeve and is a vital part of the Barry Town backroom team.
