WALES C SQUAD ANNOUNCED

Barry Town United are proud to be represented in the upcoming Wales vs England C international at Jenner Park, with four of the club’s senior team selected to represent their country on home turf.

Confirming his selections at the Town’s historic home, Wales C manager Mark Jones has chosen Kayne McLaggon, Jordan Cotterill, Chris Hugh and Mike Lewis to be part of the Dragons’ C squad.

Returning to his hometown club in June 2017 (after previously representing the Town as a youth), striker McLaggon, 27, quickly became the club’s top goalscorer in its JD Welsh Premier League campaign; scoring 12 times, including memorable winners at both Bangor City and The New Saints.

A multi-time Player of the Season at Jenner Park, playmaker Cotterill, 29, made his Barry debut in February 2013 and has scored a hatful of important goals, helping secure multiple Welsh League titles. With creativity and skill to match, Cotterill could certainly be one to watch for Wales against England.

Recently profiled by S4C for his day job as a dentist, full-back Hugh, 26, arrived at Jenner Park in July 2016 and would become a key part of the squad that secured promotion to the JD Welsh Premier League; winning plaudits for his Man of the Match performance in the Nathaniel MG Cup Final.

Goalkeeper Lewis, 28, came to Barry in June 2016, having played over 100 times in the JD Welsh Premier League for Aberystwyth Town and others. Keeping over 20 clean sheets as Barry won Welsh League Division One, Lewis has wowed with some top performance since returning to the top flight.

Tickets are now on sale from the clubhouse, priced at £7 (adults) and concessions and are also available from the FAW at faw.cymru, with the match due to be streamed online via Sgorio’s Facebook channel and website.
